Community Outreach

Rooted in Greensboro. Committed to the Piedmont Triad.

At Metis Counseling Group, we are deeply committed to giving back to the communities we serve. Our dedication to social responsibility extends beyond the therapy room, as we actively engage in initiatives to support and uplift those in need. Through meaningful collaborations and purposeful efforts, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in the Greensboro and Piedmont Triad community.

BooFest 2025
Annual Event

BooFest

October 25, 2025  ·  5:00 – 8:00 PM

BooFest is one of our favorite traditions at Metis Counseling Group — a free, family-friendly Halloween celebration open to the entire community. The evening is filled with costumes, games, treats, and the kind of genuine community connection that makes it a highlight of the year.

Beyond the fun, BooFest carries a spirit of giving. This year, we collected gently used costumes, classroom props, and toys for our Educator of the Quarter and her drama students — helping spark creativity and joy in their classroom long after the night was over.

Holiday Giving

Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway

Thanksgiving 2025

This past Thanksgiving, Metis Counseling Group was proud to give back to the Greensboro community in a meaningful way — distributing 25 turkeys to local families in need, ensuring more households could gather around a full table for the holiday.

This initiative reflects our belief that community care goes beyond the therapy room. Supporting families during the holiday season is one of the ways we live out our commitment to the health and wellbeing of every member of our community.

Connecting Community
Community Forum Series

Connecting Community

4-Part Townhall Forum  ·  Hosted at Metis Counseling Group

Metis Counseling Group created and facilitated Connecting Community — a group and townhall forum series hosted right here at our office. It is a space dedicated to bringing people together to share resources, support, and meaningful conversations, with the goal of fostering a strong, engaged community by promoting local events, discussing important issues, and offering help where it's needed.

Across four sessions, the forum covered a wide range of topics including education advocacy, gardening, nutrition, and more. Whether participants were looking for advice, sharing opportunities, or simply connecting with neighbors, Connecting Community was designed to uplift and empower everyone in the room.
